Following the ceasefire in the conflict with Iran, U.S. President Donald Trump declared that the United States aims to engage in direct negotiations with Tehran in the near future. "It will happen very soon," Trump was quoted by the New York Post during a phone interview conducted today. According to him, the negotiations will involve the president's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, special envoy Steve Witkoff, and possibly Vice President JD Vance. Previously, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had invited delegations from the United States and Iran to Islamabad for further talks, with the goal of discussing a final agreement. Pakistani sources indicate that representatives from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt may also participate in the meetings, as they had previously advised Pakistan on ways to reduce regional tensions.
