Prime Minister Edi Rama, in the latest episode of the "Flasim" podcast on Facebook, among the week's events, also addressed the fire at one of the buildings in the complex near QSUT in Tirana. Rama declared that the building affected by the fire in the complex near QSUT in Tirana will be completely rebuilt and that the affected residents will be supported until they return to their homes. Rama stated that the affected families will receive a rental bonus and assistance for damages within their apartments, adding that the residents will not be left alone and will be supported until they return to a fully rebuilt new home. The Prime Minister added that preliminary investigations suggest the fire may have started from an electrical spark, while emphasizing that final verifications are still ongoing. Edi Rama: This week there was a moment that, truthfully, was initially shocking because the flames engulfing a building in Tirana seemed to seriously threaten the lives of residents, but fortunately, thanks to the efforts and truly professional, yet above all heroic work of the firefighters, everything passed without any lives lost and without serious injuries. Meanwhile, what remained after the fire was the charred remains of that building, for which we immediately took action, and the first and most important thing, in my opinion, is that the building will be completely rebuilt from scratch, 100% by its own constructor, and on the other hand, the commitment to help the residents until the momentโ€”and I believe it won't take much time because the construction company is thereโ€”but until the moment those residents return home, they can have a rental bonus and, certainly, also support from the municipality to ease the burden caused by the unforeseen damages that occurred in their apartments. Now, in such cases, all sorts of chatter and self-proclaimed public experts immediately appear, like mushrooms after rain, but without the necessary licenses and knowledge to take on such a role. Nevertheless, due to emotions and the need for protagonism, everyone has something to say. The truth is that this was a misfortune caused by a spark, by the start of a fire, if you will, which in itself has no connection to the construction, but on the other hand, this is a reason to properly examine and understand what relates to construction quality and materials, even though, from the initial verification that was done, the construction had all certified materials and they were imported, so I don't want to dwell on this point further. The most important thing is that none of those residents who experienced that dramatic moment, which fortunately and, again, thanks first and foremost to the firefighters, but also to the law enforcement forces present there, did not turn into a tragic moment, will be left alone and will not be left to their own fate in facing the need to return and live normally in a fully rebuilt home of their own, as they deserve.
