An unusual and concerning situation was reported in the investigative show Fiks Fare by Drita Bazhdari, an employee of the water supply company in Mirditë. After 42 years of work, she expressed that she is now paid without performing any duties, as she is not given the opportunity to work. Bazhdari stated that for decades she has been engaged in the technical sector, handling contract connections and changes, field inspections, and receiving citizens. However, for about 8 months, according to her, the situation has fundamentally changed. "I go to work every day and sit for 8 hours in front of the computer doing nothing. I haven't even written the date. The supervisor does not allow me to work," she said. According to the report, a new employee has been placed in her position, while she has been excluded from any work process. Although she continues to receive her salary, Bazhdari considers this situation demeaning and unfair. She mentioned that she has sought solutions from the managers, even addressing the directorate in Lezhë, but without concrete results. In fact, according to her, there have even been delays in payment, where for a period of two months she was not paid, only to receive everything at once later. During a meeting with the director in Lezhë, he promised to intervene to assign her a work plan. In a phone communication with the supervisor in Mirditë, the director asked the latter to give specific tasks to the employee. However, the situation appears to remain unresolved. When Bazhdari returned to Mirditë, she did not find the supervisor in the office, and in a phone communication, he told her that "she knows her duties," adding that "she is at work since she receives her salary." On the other hand, the employee insists that she only seeks to return to normalcy and practice her profession. "I want to work. I don't want to sit idle for 8 hours," she expressed, calling for intervention to resolve the situation. Meanwhile, in response to the interest from Fiks Fare journalists, the supervisor Nikolin Kaçorri gave contradictory statements regarding the case. In some instances, he claimed that the employee refused work, while in others he asserted that she performed her duties.
