Prime Minister Edi Rama declared that without justice reform, one cannot become a member of the European Union. During his speech at the Socialist Party Assembly in Vlora, Rama also spoke about the fight against corruption. In this regard, the prime minister stated that the fight against corruption has reached its peak, not corruption itself. According to him, one cannot speak of an increase in corruption when wages have also risen at the same time. He said that in Albania, wages in the private sector are regularly increasing, and in the public sector, the average has reached 1000 euros. โ€œWithout justice reform, you do not become a member of the EU. We want justice reform and independent justice here, for Albanians. Food security is also a major challenge. We need it here. The process is a blessing for us; having the EU as a guide for all reforms is a state-building process. State-building is the benefit for Albanians here. A better economy, better institutions, is the result of the process they are undertaking, but it is also for the good of Albania. All this turmoil that one perceives when opening those mirrors should not be allowed to influence any of our supporters. We do not betray and have not betrayed that vote. We did not take that vote to reverse justice reform; without our will, justice is not made independent. The sword of justice was in my office since 1912, and we handed it over to another authority. We must discuss these things among ourselves, tell each other, and then in the community, that today in Albania, wages in the private sector are regularly increasing, and in the public sector, the average has reached 1000 euros, but we also have wage indexing for teachers, police, and we have seniority in work. We knew these things, but how could we do it when the economy did not allow us. In every aspect, we have many things that are in our favor. They talk about corruption, corruption, and shamelessly, that corruption has reached its peak. The fight against corruption has reached its peak. Today, we certainly have a corruption problem, but we have a fight against corruption. We have carried out a series of reforms. Wage increases and corruption do not go together. It does not happen,โ€ he emphasized.
