Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that Israel "will not remain silent in the face of those who attack it," accusing Spain of slandering Israeli soldiers and taking a one-sided stance in the Middle East conflict.

In a public statement, the Israeli prime minister expressed that Madrid has "insulted Israel's heroes," referring to the Israel Defense Forces, which he described as "the most moral army in the world."

Netanyahu also announced the decision to remove Spanish representatives from the coordination center in Kiryat Gat, arguing that Spain has consistently taken positions against Israel.

"Those who attack Israel instead of terrorist regimes will not be our partners in the future of the region," he said, adding that "hypocrisy and hostility" toward his country will not be tolerated.

Relations between Spain and Israel have been significantly strained over the past two years, especially following Madrid's continuous criticism of the war in Gaza. Last month, Spain recalled its ambassador from Israel, while this week diplomatic moves toward Iran have also been reported, amid an atmosphere of heightened diplomatic tension.
