Interior Minister Besfort Lamallari stated that regarding the warning from the U.S. Embassy, specialized police structures have had direct communications with the embassy, and currently there is no real threat to Albania. He added that the country has taken enhanced security measures in response to international developments.
“Just last night, I ordered the anti-terrorism, public security, and criminal police structures to be in continuous communication with the U.S. Embassy, which has confirmed that there is no concrete information about a real threat. Albania has taken enhanced security measures, cooperating with at least two embassies in the country, according to an action plan that defines the tasks of each responsible structure,” said Lamallari.
