Socialist Party MP, Erion Braçe, criticized in Parliament the absence of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Andis Salla. He stated that he has been seeking an interpellation with the minister for two months, who did not appear in the chamber due to a visit to Kosovo. "Anyone who undertakes to speak in this chamber must also think about economic security. The economy is not something that develops out there, but it has an important element in it, trust. The panic that spreads in such cases can strike the economy and, above the economy, the citizens of the Republic of Albania. I would demand that there be accountability in this chamber. These are not issues to be discussed here, but in parliamentary committees. Even there with extraordinary attention to not cause panic in the economy of the citizens of Albania. I have been since mid-February requesting an interpellation with the Minister of Agriculture. We are going into the second week of April. I was told two weeks ago that the minister is in Brussels. Today they tell me the minister is in Kosovo. I do not think this is the reason. The issue I raised is about food. The Minister of Agriculture should be here and answer to Parliament. A minister cannot dictate my agenda. I would insistently request that this not happen again. It took me 6 weeks to get the information, now I need 6 weeks to speak with the minister. It makes no sense!" said Braçe.
