A mafia-style assassination on Sunday afternoon with 30 bullets claimed the lives of a couple in Balldren, Lezhë. Kreshnik and Gentjana Mujeci were executed with a hail of bullets while moving in their Audi Q7 vehicle.

Although there are no traces of the perpetrators yet, according to investigations so far, it is known that two cars, one black and one gray, were involved in the action. From what has been obtained from security cameras, the black car had no license plates.

According to the police, it was precisely this vehicle that cut off the couple's path, from which a person fired 30 bullets, killing Kreshnik and Gentjana on the spot. The perpetrators followed the Audi for some time until they found the right moment to carry out the massacre.

Just a day earlier, the Mujeci couple had organized a party promoting religious harmony, with various videos posted on social media, something they reportedly did often.

The long-standing conflict between two families in the Lezhë area, which is suspected to be linked to the recent assassination in Balldren, has roots dating back to 2016. What started as a momentary clash over a trivial matter escalated over the years into severe proportions and tragic consequences.

According to information, everything began in the center of Torovicë village when a parked vehicle blocked the passage of other cars. A group of people traveling to their home asked the driver to clear the road, but the situation quickly became tense. From a verbal argument, the clash degraded into physical contact, leaving a strained atmosphere between the parties.

Although the incident seemingly ended there, tensions did not subside. On the contrary, they deepened in the following days, as the parties remained in opposing stances without finding a resolution. The refusal to clarify the situation or reduce tensions appears to have worsened the conflict further.

Shortly after, the situation took a dramatic turn when one of the individuals involved in the initial clash was shot dead during a routine movement. According to investigations at the time, an organized ambush was suspected, where a new argument had degenerated into the use of weapons.

The event shocked the area and led to arrests, but the judicial process ended without convictions due to a lack of sufficient evidence. However, despite the court's decision, suspicions and mistrust between the families did not disappear, keeping the conflict alive over the years.

Subsequently, the silent tension was also reflected in the daily lives of family members, who, according to sources, became more cautious in their movements and avoided contacts in areas where the conflict had originated.

Recent events seem to bring this old story back into focus, showing how a conflict started over minor reasons can escalate with severe consequences if not resolved in time.

Although this lead has been dismissed by lawyer Gjergji Neli, who is also a relative of the couple, he has called for a full clarification of the crime. He emphasizes that investigations should not be limited only to the revenge angle but should consider all possibilities.

Through a social media post, Neli has strongly condemned the criminal act and called on law enforcement institutions to identify and bring the perpetrators of this event to justice.

Regarding an incident that occurred several years ago, he clarified that Kreshnik Mujeci was not found guilty, dismissing insinuations that could link the current case to previous matters.
