25-year-old Vehid Murić is accused of causing the deaths of brothers Denis (28) and Nezrin Hoti (35) from Rožaje, as well as Kenan Miraljemović from Novi Pazar. The crime occurred in a rented apartment in the "Stari Aerodrom" neighborhood of Podgorica, where four young painters lived together. According to an official statement from the Police Directorate, the crime was preceded by "personal disputes between the victims and the suspect." After the crime, Murić is suspected to have gone to his hometown, Rožaje, where he met his family. "Mother, my hands are stained with blood, I killed three people... I'm sorry," he said, according to reports from Montenegrin media "Vijesti." According to the official statement from the Police Directorate, Murić drew a cold weapon after a quarrel with the three victims and committed the triple murder, for which he appears to have immediately regretted. Shortly after 8:00 PM last evening, the Police Directorate announced that Murić had been arrested in the center of that municipality in the north of the country. One of the newspaper's sources said the four young men had an argument over a debt.
