Italian police have handcuffed Roberto Mazzarella, the boss of the Camorra who was one of Italy's most wanted individuals. Mazzarella, the head of the clan of the same name operating in Naples and its surroundings, was captured by police after more than a year on the run. He was hiding in a luxury resort on the Amalfi Coast, where he had booked under a false identity to spend the Easter holidays with his family. The 48-year-old did not resist during the arrest, while in the premises where he was staying, authorities seized luxury watches, around 20,000 euros in cash, false documents, phones, and materials suspected to be linked to the clan's financial activities. Declared wanted since January 28, 2025, Mazzarella is accused of murder under mafia circumstances, including a crime that occurred in 2000, as part of a feud between clans. Mazzarella was ranked fourth on the list of the most dangerous fugitives identified by the Ministry of the Interior.
