This Monday in the capital, the Diaspora Summit took place. The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, awarded the title "Knight of the Order of Skanderbeg" to the former captain of the National Team, Lorik Cana. In his speech, Cana appeared emotional, expressing that throughout his life he has done everything to make Albanians proud around the world.

"When we are before a panel and have gathered our people, who have stood out and made an extraordinary contribution for us. We have played in full stadiums with hundreds of millions of people watching us. Today, I do not accept this only in my name, but in the name of my family. My father, Agim, my grandparents, Gani, my uncle, and everyone. This foundation has served us.

We Kosovars were forced to emigrate. At this Diaspora Summit, I return as an Albanian from Kosovo. We emigrated and strived to do well, not only for our families, but we tried to raise as much as possible the honor and name of Albanians.

I believe this has been the greatest pride that I and my family have experienced. Having a tool like football, you understand that the responsibility is great. I have been retired for 10 years. When I tell people this, they laugh. It's a whole life, where love and contribution to the homeland are never missing. We have tried to lift our community," expressed Cana.
