The brother of the deceased Liridona Ademaj, Leonard, has thanked the justice authorities, investigators, media, and all other supporters in the judicial process for the murder of Liridona Ademaj.
In a Facebook post, he stated that femicide in Kosovo must come to an end with his sister's case. He further emphasized that Kosovo should become a place where no girl or woman should be mistreated, attacked, or killed.
If one day, unexpectedly, you receive the news that your daughter, sister, or family member has been killed, it is a situation for which no one is prepared. That is how Liridona's murder found us. The grief and sorrow that engulfed us cannot be described in words because they cannot be measured; they overwhelm you and break your heart.
In those days, there is something of particular importance that always stays with people, and that is the solidarity of people and the work of institutions. Therefore, today, as we feel somewhat relieved by the punishment of the criminals, we want to thank all those who reacted and stood by us.
Thank you to the media, journalists, and reporters who covered our case. As Leonard, I had no experience with the media, and I apologize if at times I could not respond, but I am grateful that you understood me and my family.
Journalists in Kosovo have shown a high level of ethics in reporting our case, and for that, we thank them. Thank you to the public, who supported us with thousands of messages and comments from around the world, gave us strength, and encouraged us to fight for justice. Thank you to the investigators, police, prosecution, and court for their work and professionalism.
Thank you to our lawyer, Leutrim Syla. His professional representation before institutions, his guidance for us as a family, and the personal care he has shown have given us great confidence, and for that, we thank him very much. This case required a lot of work, and Leutrim worked day and night to ensure the best possible outcome.
Thank you to Flutura Kusari, who has been with us since the first day Liridona was killed, guiding us, helping us, and above all, staying close to our mother. Many people think Flutura is our family member. She is not, but we have often told her that you have become a member of our family.
Finally, we want to say: Kosovo must become a place where no girl or woman should be mistreated, attacked, or killed. Femicide must come to an end, and we, as the Ademaj family, are available to join any cause and initiative that helps stop femicide.
With great respect, Leonard Ademaj and family!
