New York City Mayor Eric Adams has officially registered as a resident of Administrative Unit No. 2 in Tirana, just days after obtaining Albanian citizenship. According to a public announcement, Adams completed the registration procedures as a resident in the capital, and, based on published photos, has also applied for an Albanian passport. The head of Unit No. 2, Florian Pullazi, described Adams as "the newest resident of the unit," welcoming him at the local institution's premises. "Eric Adams is a great friend of Albanians and is now also an Albanian citizen. Obtaining citizenship reflects the long-standing connection between New York and the Albanian community in the U.S.," Pullazi stated, adding that it is a pleasure that he is now also a resident of this unit in Tirana. During his time as mayor of New York City, Adams has consistently expressed appreciation and sympathy for Albania and the Albanian community in the United States.
