A substitute teacher at a high school in Mestre, Italy, has been temporarily suspended from work after allegedly cutting the hair of two female students during class. The decision was made by the education authorities of Veneto, pending the conclusion of an administrative investigation launched by the Regional Education Office. The incident occurred in a third-year high school classroom, in front of all the students present.

According to the reconstruction of the event, the teacher is suspected of reacting to a student's repeated request for a class assignment by taking scissors and cutting a lock of her hair. Shortly after, she performed the same action on another female student.

Following the incident, the students' parents raised concerns, and the school administration immediately initiated internal checks. The two students involved, their families, and the teacher herself were questioned to fully clarify the circumstances.

The Veneto education authorities ordered the immediate suspension of the teacher as a precautionary measure, emphasizing that disciplinary proceedings are already underway. Meanwhile, the case could have more severe consequences for the teacher, as depending on the investigation's outcome, disciplinary or even criminal proceedings may be initiated, potentially leading to final measures against her.
