The Kosovo Police and the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Mitrovica have confirmed a major operation conducted against gambling and suspected illegal activities, spanning several cities in the country.

The action took place in Mitrovica, Vushtrri, Istog, and Skenderaj, where around 50 locations were raided, including premises and residences suspected of being used for illegal activities.

As a result of the operation, 34 people were arrested, while approximately 170,000 euros in cash, 5 vehicles, firearms, and various equipment suspected of being used for illegal betting were seized.

By order of the prosecutor, 29 suspects were placed in detention, while the rest were released under regular procedures.

In Skenderaj, 15 locations were inspected, and 8 people were arrested, of whom 4 were placed in custody.

The authorities have announced that similar operations will continue, aiming to combat organized crime and illegal activities that threaten public order and safety in the country.
