A serious incident has shaken the province of Asti, near Turin, where a 59-year-old man of Albanian origin is suspected of killing his ex-wife and her new partner before taking his own life.

According to investigative information, the suspect Astrit Koni and his ex-wife Drita Koni (Meรงollari) had lived in Italy for about 20 years. The other victim is believed to be her new partner, Bardhok Gega.

The incident is suspected to have stemmed from personal conflicts and jealousy, as the woman had rejected the ex-husband's attempts to reconcile and had started a new relationship. According to investigators, the victims were found lifeless in a canal near a rural area, where they were working close to beehives.

Subsequently, the perpetrator is suspected to have climbed to Castello di Cossombrato, where he worked as a gardener and had access to its premises. According to witnesses, he jumped from a tower window around 3:00 PM, dying on the spot.

Shortly before the incident, he is suspected to have left a message expressing a deep personal crisis and prolonged family conflicts.

Italian authorities have launched an investigation to fully clarify the circumstances of this triple tragedy, while the small local community has been shaken by the event.
