Tensions between Russia and European countries have escalated following recent statements from Moscow regarding military support for Ukraine. Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev warned that factories in Europe producing drones for Ukraine could become targets of Russian attacks. This comes after the Russian Defense Ministry published a list of addresses related to the production or support of drones for Kyiv. In his response, Medvedev used an ironic tone toward European countries, calling them "partners" and wishing them "good night" after the list's publication.
On the other hand, Ukraine continues to rely on the use of drones in the war against Russia but faces financial difficulties in increasing production. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has asked European countries to continue their support, especially for air defense systems like Patriot. At the same time, Kyiv is seeking agreements for joint weapons production and urging the European Union to accelerate the delivery of a 90-billion-euro financial package.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry views the increase in drone production for Ukraine by European countries as an escalation of the situation, warning of potential consequences if this support continues.
