An arsenal of weapons and military ammunition was discovered in an apartment in Lezhë during a surprise police operation. A 62-year-old man was handcuffed after being found with and having confiscated from him 1 automatic firearm with 3 magazines, 414 rounds of military ammunition, 6 defensive grenades, and 5 unified detonator igniters. Another case of illegal weapons possession has been struck. Firearms, hundreds of rounds of military ammunition, defensive grenades, and unified detonator igniters were seized. A 62-year-old man caught in the act of possessing them without authorization was arrested. In continuation of efforts to prevent and crack down on cases of illegal weapons possession, based on operational intelligence that a citizen was in possession of weapons and military ammunition, the services of the Lezhë Police Commissariat organized and carried out the coded police operation "Surprise." During the operation, in the apartment of citizen L. J., 62 years old, in the village of Markatomaj, Lezhë, police services found and confiscated, as material evidence, 1 automatic firearm with 3 magazines, 414 rounds of military ammunition, 6 defensive grenades, and 5 unified detonator igniters. Following procedural actions, the 62-year-old was arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offense of "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons, and ammunition." The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Lezhë General Jurisdiction Court for further action.
