After a sharp increase that directly impacted consumer spending a few weeks ago, fruit and vegetable prices in the country's markets have started to decline. An observation was conducted in the capital's markets, where currently, the price of tomatoes averages 200 lek/kg, while citizens also have cheaper alternatives to choose from. Cucumbers are being sold at a maximum price of 100 lek/kg, green peppers at 200 lek/kg, while red peppers have a maximum price of 350 lek/kg. Broccoli and cauliflower are around 150 lek/kg, green beans 300 lek/kg, carrots around 130 lek/kg, while products like onions and potatoes appear to be the only ones that did not reflect the increase. Consumers also feel the difference, however, many of them express that they still face difficulties in their daily purchases. This decline is also linked to the entry of seasonal domestic production into the market, which has reduced dependence on imports.
