A serious incident occurred in South Africa, where a safari park owner lost his life after being attacked by an elephant during a tourist walk. Gary Freeman, 65, co-owner of the Klaserie Nature Reserve, was leading a group of four tourists along a river in the area when an elephant suddenly appeared and attacked him. He attempted to scare the animal by drawing his revolver but did not fire.
According to sources, the incident happened very quickly, and Freeman was unable to escape the attack. "Gary tried to stop the attack but never fired. The elephant was on him very fast, and it was, as you can imagine, a terrifying situation. Nothing can stop an angry six-ton elephant," they added, noting that everything ended within moments.
The tourists tried to help, urgently transporting him for medical assistance, but he could not survive the severe injuries.
Freeman was known for his love of elephants. He had previously stated that he would rather die from an elephant than shoot one.
Police in the Limpopo province have launched an investigation into the case, while experts are analyzing the animal's behavior. No action has been taken against the elephant.
