Ilaria Sula is one of the names whose tragic story shook not only Albanians but also Italy, where she lost her life at the hands of her ex-boyfriend. Her parents, Gëzime and Flamur Sula, were deeply moving with their account on the show "Verissimo." The mother of the 22-year-old shared that she was the one who washed her for the last time, moments that reminded her of the first time she held her after giving birth. "Just as I touched her for the first time when she was born, I arranged her with my own hands on her final day. I wanted to wash her myself, to touch her body. I told my husband: I want to buy a princess dress for our daughter, because she was the princess of the house. I went and bought the dress and shoes. I washed her myself, touched her everywhere, I arranged her myself that day," she said. With tears that barely flowed due to the pain, Gëzime recounted how she visits her daughter’s grave every day, talking to her about the dreams her daughter could not fulfill. Ilaria’s parents have sought justice for their daughter as a year has passed since the tragic event. "I go every day, sit down, and talk to her about the dreams she didn’t get to achieve. She could hardly wait to graduate. Today, Ilaria is the one giving me strength to continue. I am here to seek justice for her. Our lives have completely changed. We no longer live, we survive. We move forward for our son Leon and to get justice for our daughter Ilaria. Smiles will no longer return to our faces, but Ilaria must have justice," she said. The grave incident occurred in March 2025 in Rome, where Ilaria was killed by her ex-boyfriend, Mark Antony Samson, who has confessed to the crime.
