Following Italy's loss in Bosnia and the recent developments at the helm of Italian football, the crisis in the "Azzurri" camp is deepening further.

The resignation of the President of the Italian Football Federation, Gabriele Gravina, has triggered a wave of departures, which has already included other significant figures.

The head of the national team delegation, Gianluigi Buffon, has also announced his departure from the position. The legendary former goalkeeper had considered stepping down immediately after the match in Zenica, but, according to him, he was asked to wait "until everyone had time to think it over."

"Now that President Gravina has chosen to resign, I feel free to do what I consider an act of responsibility. While I sincerely believe we built a lot in terms of team spirit and group cohesion with Gennaro Gattuso and all my collaborators in the very short time the national team had, the main objective was to bring Italy back to the World Cup. And we did not succeed," Buffon expressed on social media.

Meanwhile, according to sources close to the federation, the wave of changes is expected to continue. Next in line is coach Gennaro Gattuso, whose departure is seen as increasingly likely after the failure to qualify for the World Cup, while replacement names have been circulating for hours.
