A serious accident occurred shortly before the concert of the famous singer Shakira in Brazil. Foreign media report that a technician lost his life after a part of the stage collapsed. Authorities and organizers have stated that the worker was preparing the stage at the famous Copacabana beach. A large stage had been under construction there for more than two weeks for the concert scheduled for May 2. Meanwhile, the fire department reported that the man became trapped in a lifting system, and his legs were subsequently crushed. He was rescued by colleagues and rushed to the hospital, but died from severe injuries. Reuters writes that the victim was part of the team working on the stage assembly. An eyewitness reported that "suddenly we saw people running, and when we turned our heads, the structure had collapsed to the ground." On the other hand, in a brief statement, the organizing company "Bonus Track" confirmed the technician's death, expressing regret over the incident. According to foreign media, a few days earlier, on April 13, police had found and removed an explosive device from the Copacabana promenade, which local media reported turned out to be a non-lethal smoke grenade.
