A 30-year-old man was blackmailed to hand over 30,000 euros, and his vehicle was taken from him. Thanks to swift actions carried out by a special investigative group under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, three citizens were caught and handcuffed.
Following a report from a 30-year-old man that yesterday, at a venue, three citizens had blackmailed him to extort a sum of money—who are suspected to have been carrying firearms—and then took his vehicle until the demanded money was handed over, a special investigative group was immediately set up under the direction of the Vlora Prosecutor's Office to clarify the circumstances of the case, identify, and apprehend the perpetrators.
As a result of rapid investigative and operational actions carried out, such as evidence administration and conducting proactive investigative methods, specialists from the Section for Investigation of Property Crimes, in cooperation with the services of the Vlora Police Commissariat and the Operational Section, organized and finalized the coded police operation "Strike." Within this framework, it was possible to identify, capture, and arrest the three suspected perpetrators of the incident, citizens:
- A. G., 26 years old, M. B., 22 years old, and M. H., 29 years old, all three residents of Vlora.
From the investigations, it is suspected that these citizens, at noon yesterday, in the "Pavarësia" neighborhood, blackmailed the 30-year-old K. S., a resident of Vlora, to hand over 30,000 euros, then took his "BMW" vehicle and fled.
The procedural materials were referred to the Vlora Prosecutor's Office for further actions regarding the criminal offense "Extortion through blackmail or violence for the surrender of property," committed in collaboration.
