Tonight on "Girls and Women," the well-known folk singer Maya was a guest, sharing the challenges she has faced in her life. Referring to her separation from her husband, Maya revealed that she went through a difficult period. "Some of my songs are dedicated to my own life. For a while, I had quite a few sad moments; I felt disappointed and tired. I have a young son, and I kept all the sad moments to myself. My son never saw my tears. One line from my song says, 'Only my tears kept me company (wept).' The heart is a muscle; it needs care. Over time, we learn to take care of our hearts. I have taken care of mine, but there have been many challenges and losses. Now, my heart is in springtime."
When asked if she is divorced from her husband, Maya said they are separated but still in legal proceedings. "We are not together; officially, we are still in the process of separation through the courts. He is my son's father. He is someone in my life," the singer said.
-Has her ex-partner asked for a reunion with Maya? "He is unpredictable. He has a difficult nature. I can't speak about it because he is a person with different personalities. To be good to my son, may he become a king for my son. That's it. For my son, he helps exceptionally well (laughs), because he is not around at all."
-What is it like being both a mother and a father at the same time? "(Sings) I dance as I please, sometimes as a man and sometimes as a woman."
