Lezhë Police today issued a statement revealing the details of the incident and declaring three suspected perpetrators as wanted. It is reported that the individuals declared wanted are Adriano Mhillaj, 22, Florin Mhillaj, 36, and Renato Mhillaj, 23. There are strong suspicions that this incident occurred as an act of revenge. The three perpetrators of yesterday's incident are precisely the family members of the deceased Genc Mhillaj. Renato is reported to be the son of the 2016 victim, while Florin is his nephew. The police have not been able to locate or arrest any of the three perpetrators. The long-standing conflict between two families in the Lezhë area, which is suspected to be linked to the recent assassination attempt in Balldren, has roots dating back to 2016. What began as a momentary clash over a trivial matter escalated over the years into a severe conflict with tragic consequences. According to information, everything started in the center of the village of Torovicë, when a parked vehicle on the road had blocked the passage of other vehicles. A group of people traveling to their home asked the driver to clear the road, but the situation quickly became tense. From a verbal argument, the clash escalated into physical contact, leaving a strained atmosphere between the parties. Although the incident seemingly ended there, tensions did not subside. On the contrary, they deepened in the following days, as the parties remained in opposing stances without finding a resolution. The refusal to clarify the situation or reduce tensions appears to have further worsened the conflict. Shortly after, the situation took a dramatic turn when one of the individuals involved in the initial clash was shot dead during a routine movement. According to investigations at the time, it was suspected to be an organized ambush, where a new argument had degenerated into the use of weapons. The incident shocked the area and led to arrests, but the judicial process ended without convictions due to a lack of sufficient evidence. However, despite the court's decision, suspicions and mistrust between the families did not disappear, keeping the conflict alive over the years.
