Former President Ilir Meta has addressed the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime with a public request to ensure the live broadcast of his trial.
In his public request, Meta emphasizes the need for full transparency for citizens and the media, arguing that the public should be informed in real time about every development in the proceedings.
โOut of respect for the Albanian citizens and all compatriots, wherever they may be, whom I have served with dedication, utmost responsibility, and a deep sense of patriotism in the highest state duties (President of the Republic, Speaker of Parliament, and Prime Minister), I address today the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime with a public request to guarantee the live broadcast of this entire process, from the first session on Monday, April 27, 2026, until its conclusion.
In the interest of public information, all interested journalists and media outlets must be guaranteed the live broadcast signal.
Transparency before Albanian citizens and accountability is an obligation for every institution and every public official!โ Meta writes.
