Peace talks between Iran and the U.S. were halted due to a "gap in our views on two or three important issues," said Tehran's foreign ministry. "In the end, the talks did not result in an agreement," spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei told Iranian state television. He did not provide further details on what these issues were. Baghaei said that on some topics, American and Iranian negotiators "actually reached mutual understanding." They discussed the Strait of Hormuz, Baghaei said, although he did not mention whether they discussed nuclear weapons.
