The National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) published data on road accidents, according to which 89 accidents were recorded in March 2026, involving 117 injured persons (killed and wounded). According to INSTAT, in the January–March 2026 period, the number of road accidents decreased by 6.3% compared to the same period last year. The data show that 86.5% of accidents in March occurred due to driver behavior, remaining the main factor affecting road safety. The 25–34 age group accounts for the highest number of accidents, representing 32.6% of all recorded cases. Regarding distribution by day of the week, the highest number of accidents was recorded on Thursday with 18.0%, while the lowest was on Sunday with 9.0%. Meanwhile, the time period with the highest concentration of accidents is the 17:00–19:00 interval, accounting for 23.6% of the total.
