A dangerous rapist who deliberately infected five young men and two boys aged 15 and 17 with HIV has been sentenced to life imprisonment in England. Adam Hall, 43, was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm to seven victims, four of whom he raped. The victims said they had been violated and left with lifelong conditions and trauma, while Judge Edward Bindloss stated that Hall had destroyed their futures. "Hall, who refused to leave his courtroom cell for the sentencing hearing, had carried out a campaign of rape to deliberately inflict HIV on his victims," said prosecutor Kama Melly KC. According to the BBC, since his diagnosis in 2010, health professionals had been concerned about Hall's behavior and repeatedly warned him about the risk he posed to others. Hall was aware of the need to take medication to keep his viral load at non-infectious levels and to inform sexual partners of his HIV status. Instead, he chose not to take medication and deliberately targeted victims to infect them.
