Mustafa Martinaj testified yesterday at GJKKO regarding the seized assets of his son and family members. Off-camera, he stated that his son, Ervis Martinaj, was executed in Durrës and that SPAK refuses to investigate the matter, leaving it in the hands of the Lezhë Prosecution Office. Journalist Aida Topalli reported that Ervis Martinaj's father declared at GJKKO, "I am the father, and as a father, I certainly know something." While noting that the last people Martinaj met before disappearing were his girlfriend and former police officer Jeton Lami, Topalli added that Durrës was the last location where Ervis Martinaj was seen. "What struck me was something about what Mustafa Martinaj, the father of Ervis Martinaj, discussed with my colleagues outside the Special Prosecution Office, after he had submitted his evidence in court to retrieve or have returned the assets of his son and family members. SPAK suspects we are dealing with assets derived from organized crime. At the end of all this, he also spoke with colleagues, telling them, 'SPAK is dealing with my son's assets, while for 4 years nothing has been known about the fate of my son.' The statement that struck my colleagues, leading them to later question this division between 'why doesn't this case go to SPAK and why does it remain with the Kurbin Prosecution,' is the fact that he responded by saying, 'I am the father, and as a father, I certainly know something.' First, the Martinaj family clearly showed increased interest by inquiring about the progress of investigations into this matter at the Lezhë Police and Kurbin Prosecution. The last person made public from the file that Martinaj met is his girlfriend and former police officer Jeton Lami. The city of Durrës turns out to be Martinaj's last destination. The girlfriend and Lami say that from that moment on, they have had no further contact with Martinaj," Topalli said, among other things, on Report TV. We recall that Ervis Martinaj has been missing since August 8, 2022, and since that day, there has been no further information about him.
