Ilaria Sula's father recounted the final moments before his daughter's disappearance on the "Me Zemër të Hapur" program on News24. He revealed that March 25, 2025, was the last time the family heard her voice. After that day, the family was consumed by anxiety and uncertainty, as the search for her continued for days on end. According to suspicions, the perpetrator attempted to conceal the crime by using Ilaria's phone to send messages, aiming to create the impression that she had left willingly. The truth came to light thanks to the persistence of her brother, who managed to track the phone, helping investigators move forward with uncovering the events. Subsequently, the lifeless body of the young woman was found hidden in a suitcase and thrown into a ravine, a detail that has shocked public opinion and deepened the family's grief. "Ilaria was very responsible and never broke her word, that's when we became alarmed and set off for Rome, to the apartment where Ilaria lived with 5 other girls. We called to ask when Ilaria left the house that morning, but they took it as a joke and told us Ilaria was fine, relying on the messages he sent to the phone, pretending they were living together. They thought nothing bad had happened and took it as a game. We immediately understood that something was wrong, even my wife told me; either Ilaria has been killed or there's someone with a gun to her head who isn't answering the phone. But we didn't want to believe it. We filed a report with the police, it was Saturday, the searches began, and on Sunday we went together to the police station again. We were crying together with my wife, a policeman saw us and asked what had happened. There, we filed another report from the beginning. In Ilaria's room were the computer, laptop, documents, and wallet that Ilaria hadn't taken with her. From the computer, we tried to locate where her phone might be, it was my son who searched and found that the phone was at Mark's house. On Monday, the real searches began. As parents, we had an idea about their relationship but didn't agree that it should continue as we had told our daughter, we have no connection with Filipinos or similar races. But Ilaria had told us that if they were to break up, it should be her decision. They had been together for 1.5 or 2 years. Ilaria had asked for a break in their relationship. He always deceived my daughter. He had told her he was studying at two faculties when in fact none of it was true," he said.
