Actor Michel Prela was arrested today by the Tirana Police after crashing into a police car while performing dangerous maneuvers with the vehicle he was driving under the influence of narcotics. The 40-year-old did not stop after the police signaled him, and in an attempt to flee, he collided with the police vehicle, endangering the lives of officers in "Wilson" Square. Prela is not an unknown name to the public, as his life is a mix of fame, prison, an assassination attempt with 8 bullets, and even life in Tirana's shelters. Michel Prela is the main actor of the film "Saimir," shot in Italy with the great actor Xhevdet Ferri. In November 2025, he turned to Fiks Fare to seek help, while recounting the entire ordeal of his life. Michel said his life is truly a movie, comparable to the one he acted in. "I had offers to star in other films, but some unforeseen problems occurred. I went down the wrong path. I returned to Albania and faced an issue. I accidentally got into a conflict while defending an old friend. That person came to shoot me. In self-defense, I shot him," Michel stated. For this incident, he went to prison and was charged with assault. "I was sentenced to 10 years in prison. I hired a lawyer and reduced it; I spent 5 years in a cell during my youngest and best years," he says. The 40-year-old adds that he reconciled with the person he had conflicted with. "The person I injured brought in others to kill me. He didn’t come himself; he paid a hitman. I was in a hotel when someone I didn’t know at all called out 'Hey Michel' as soon as I stepped outside, and I remember the first bullet grazing the back of my ear. He chased me over a long distance, all the way to 'Partizani' school, without stopping at all. I was shot 8 times, 8 bullets in my body. One is still lodged in my bone, which saved me because I was on a flight. He shot me from behind, and it felt like all 8 bullets were chasing me," he recounts. He further describes the most dramatic moment of facing the assassin. "At the very end, I remember he came and put the gun to my forehead. I reacted and grabbed the gun with my hand. I pushed it upward, or I wouldn’t be here today. He put it to my head again, but it was out of bullets, and he ran away. The bullet hit my hand. He was paid by the person in question, 80,000 euros for my elimination. The assassin is in prison, but I don’t know who ordered it," Michel adds. In the hospital, he endured another ordeal, lasting a full 6 months. In the end, he said that after all this suffering, he was left homeless. "I live in the 'Strehëza' center in Shkozë. Currently, I have many problems; I am alone. I came thinking of turning to Fiks, national and international artists—whoever might want to help me. Where I am at 'Strehëza,' I am with 20 other people, and I have no way to treat my leg or even move. They told me they would give me a house. I have no other option; I receive an old-age pension of 140,000 lek per month, which isn’t even enough for medical treatments," Michel said.
