The suspected shooter at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, in the presence of President Donald Trump, has been identified as Cole Thomas Allen, a 31-year-old teacher from Torrance, California.

According to international media sources, Allen is currently in custody and is expected to make his first court appearance on April 27. U.S. authorities continue their investigation to fully clarify the circumstances and motives of the incident.

The suspect studied engineering and is a graduate of the California Institute of Technology, known as Caltech, according to materials obtained by CNN.

Meanwhile, President Trump described the suspect as "a sick person," emphasizing that he was armed with multiple weapons.

"The person has been arrested. They are going to his apartment. I think he lives in California, and he is a sick person, very sick, and we don't want things like this to happen," the U.S. president said after being escorted off stage during the incident.

Meanwhile, Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser stated that the suspect was in possession of firearms and cutting tools, and is believed to have acted alone.
