An extraordinary act of courage has been recorded in Australia, where an Albanian man became the protagonist of a dramatic rescue during a fierce fire at a residence in Adelaide. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, around 6:20 a.m., when a house was suddenly engulfed in flames and thick smoke. Dritan Lucaj noticed that his neighbor had left the apartment but, for reasons still unclear, had returned inside and was no longer coming out.

Faced with the critical situation, he did not hesitate to act. Risking his life, Lucaj entered the burning house through the back, amid flames and severe smoke conditions. Inside, he managed to find the unconscious man just a few steps from the exit. With great effort, he pulled him out in the final moments, shortly before the arrival of fire services. Local authorities emphasized that his intervention was decisive and that without this quick response, the victim would most likely not have survived.

Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames within about 10 minutes, though the house suffered significant damage. Meanwhile, Lucaj sustained minor injuries from smoke inhalation, with no serious health consequences. His courage has been widely praised by the community and authorities, making him a rare example of human solidarity. He had settled in Australia only a few months earlier, after moving from Italy, but his response showed that the sense of responsibility toward others knows no borders.
