An American businessman, Ernie Dosio, tragically lost his life after being attacked and trampled to death by a herd of elephants during a safari in Africa. According to reports from the Daily Mail, citing safari organizer Collect Africa, the 75-year-old was in the Lope-Okanda National Park, a tropical park, where he was participating in an organized hunt.
The incident occurred as Dosio and a professional hunter were searching for game, including forest buffalo and antelopes. Suddenly, they encountered a herd of five female elephants along with a calf. Feeling threatened, the animals reacted aggressively and attacked. The professional hunter was severely injured during the confrontation and lost his weapon, while Dosio, although armed, was unable to defend himself and was trampled by the elephants.
According to relatives, the victim was an experienced hunter who had participated in many licensed safaris in both Africa and the United States. They emphasized that his activities were conducted within the rules of wildlife control. The African elephant is the largest land animal in the world and can become extremely dangerous when it feels threatened, especially if there are calves in the herd. Females can reach speeds of up to 40 km/h, making it nearly impossible to evade an attack at close range.
