Former President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, celebrates his 58th birthday today, another birthday away from his family, in The Hague, where six years ago the indictment was also filed by the Specialized Chambers. On this day, his son, Endrit Thaçi, made a touching wish through a post on Instastory.
"Dad, happy birthday. We miss you every day, but today even more. We are proud of you and your strength," he wrote.
Thaçi, along with Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi, and Jakup Krasniqi, have been in pre-trial detention in The Hague since 2020. They are accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity during the last war in Kosovo, charges for which all four former senior officials have pleaded not guilty.
