Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, was forced to change his travel plans due to the dimensions of his impressive yacht. Koru, one of the largest and most luxurious private yachts in the world, is over 120 meters long and is estimated to cost around $500 million. However, its size proves to be a limiting factor in some cases, as it cannot reach all ports.
During a recent stop in Costa Rica, the yacht was unable to enter Marina Papagayo, one of the region's most renowned destinations. This marina can accommodate vessels up to 76 meters long, much smaller than Koru.
Instead of limiting his trip, Jeff Bezos used a combination of means to reach his yacht. First, he used a private Gulfstream G650ER jet, one of the most advanced business aircraft, to land at Daniel Oduber International Airport.
From there, the journey continued by helicopter, which took him directly to Koru, bypassing the port restrictions. This solution, although costly, offers flexibility and speed, characteristics considered essential at this level of travel.
However, the experience was not limited to air transport. For his explorations in the region, the Amazon founder also sought the help of a private submarine, adding another dimension of luxury to his vacation.
