Democratic Party MP Saimir Korreshi has requested an interpellation with the Minister of Health, Evis Sala, to provide clarifications on the issues in Albanian hospitals, focusing on Lushnje, the area he comes from. In Parliament, Korreshi sarcastically remarked that you cannot enter Europe if hospitals lack basic supplies. According to him, the maternity ward in Lushnje and the pediatrics department have no elevator, and the necessary equipment is not functioning. "Do you have her phone number to call that Minister of Health?! She really has gone to Europe and showed us videos from Europe, but I want to tell her that you don't go to Europe without cotton, iodine, and gloves in Albanian hospitals. You don't enter Europe when mammography doesn't work in Lushnje. You don't enter Europe when there's no ultrasound in Lushnje for examinations during childbirth. We send them to Fier, and all the people from Lushnje end up becoming from Fier. You don't enter Europe when X-rays come out like photos without a flash. There's no elevator to go up to the third floor in maternity, and women give birth on the stairs. There's no elevator in pediatrics, where the emergency room is on the fourth floor, and husbands and wives take turns carrying them from two floors because they give up on the way," declared Korreshi.
