For several days, social media has been circulating videos showing veiled women who, according to reports, have been approaching minors. This situation has alarmed parents, who have expressed their concerns, while today the State Police responded by stating that the women have been questioned and after verifications, it has been determined that they have not committed any unlawful acts against minors. The police also clarify that these women are Iranian nationals and are equipped with residence permits in the Republic of Albania for humanitarian reasons.
The State Police assures citizens that, in this case, there is no risk to the safety of minors.
Prompted by a news item published on social media, which claimed that several veiled women were communicating suspiciously with minors, the specialized structures of the State Police immediately initiated the necessary verifications and investigations. As a result of the actions taken, it was possible to identify the two female citizens who appear in the published video.
The female citizens, with the initials M. G. and A. G., were accompanied on April 21, 2026, to the premises of the Tirana Local Police Directorate for further procedural actions. From the verifications conducted so far, it appears that these citizens are Iranian nationals and are equipped with residence permits in the Republic of Albania for humanitarian reasons.
At the conclusion of the preliminary investigative actions, it was not found that these female citizens had committed any unlawful acts against minors. The State Police assures citizens that, in this case, there is no risk to the safety of minors. The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Tirana General Jurisdiction Court for assessment and further proceedings.
