The Constitutional Court of Albania has decided by a majority vote to reject the request of former President Ilir Meta, who sought the annulment of the decisions by three courts regarding the security measure "arrest in prison."

According to the ruling, Meta's claims concerning the manner of execution of the security measure were previously addressed in other judicial instances. The Court notes that the former president also filed a complaint for suspected arbitrary actions with the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, where the matter remains under investigation.

For this reason, the Constitutional Court has decided not to review this part of the request, arguing that there must first be a stance from the ordinary courts.

The final decision leaves the current security measure against Meta in force.
