Former President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, reacted harshly following the decision of the Constitutional Court, which overturned his request regarding the security measure and the arrest procedure.

In a reaction on Facebook, Meta described the decision as expected, ironically referring to the institution with the phrase "Lana's Court." According to him, the decision comes after a deliberate six-month delay, aimed at hindering the pursuit of the matter in international instances.

No surprise from Lana's Court! After dragging the issue for 6 months, beyond any reasonable deadline, with the intention of delaying our path to Strasbourg, today it once again showed that this Court does not know how to disappoint. My assessment of it I have said since March 2, 2020, when they were sworn in at Lana. But at least they should have a little dignity and not delay the unveiling of their decision. Once again, I invite all media and journalists, on April 27, to the first session of the trial on the merits, and to all other sessions, where I will be face to face with the gang that seized me in a bandit-like manner and where we will dismantle this disgraceful farce of a justice process with direction.
