Southampton goalkeeper Daniel Peretz has revealed he decided to marry singer Noa Kirel after watching her finish third at the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool three years ago. Their story has been compared by Israeli media to the legendary romance of David Beckham and Victoria Adams, and the couple are now known as Israel’s “Posh and Becks.” “In Israel, it’s really nice—we get a lot of love from people. I’m lucky to have her in my life. She has a higher profile than me, no doubt. She’s the most famous person in Israel. We met a few months after Eurovision. When I saw that performance, I said: ‘Wow, I want her to be my wife—she’s the most beautiful woman in the world.’” Kirel splits her time between Tel Aviv, where she is a judge on *The Voice*, Southampton, and music tours. Meanwhile, most of Peretz’s family remains in Tel Aviv, where they often have to shelter from sirens and rockets. “It’s not easy—you have to be in a bunker or a safe room. They help me a lot and give me the security to focus 100% on football,” Peretz said. The 25-year-old goalkeeper has helped Southampton maintain a 14-match unbeaten run since joining the club on loan from Bayern Munich in January. He previously played for Maccabi Tel Aviv, training with former Spurs star Robbie Keane, and has taken lessons from his idol, Manuel Neuer. “I watched every one of his saves, and then he became my friend,” Peretz said of their first meeting, describing the moment as “unforgettable.” He also highlighted the influence of England captain Harry Kane on improving his game in Munich: “When you play with a better player, you improve. For a goalkeeper, positioning, timing, and perfect reach are everything.” Finally, Peretz shared his ambitions: “It’s one of the most important matches I’ve played because we know that if we win, we go to Wembley. We have everything to win and we respect the opponent, but we are not afraid.”
