Spanish club Real Betis is reported to have excluded midfielder Nelson Deossa from the squad amid speculation of a possible romantic link with the daughter of the club's sporting director. According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, the 26-year-old's absence from the last four La Liga matches has raised doubts about his situation. The report claims this absence has "fueled rumors" of a potential romance with Daniela Sanchez. Daniela is one of the two daughters of Betis legend Joaquin Sanchez, who made 528 appearances for the club, scoring 66 goals and winning the Copa del Rey twice before retiring in 2023 at the age of 41. Deossa's last match for Betis was on March 12, when he came on as a substitute in the UEFA Europa League loss to Panathinaikos. Since then, he has not been included in the team. The report also suggests there is an "idea" that his exclusion could be related to non-football reasons. Some fans claim the player has been seen at nightclubs in Seville after team losses. Meanwhile, Deossa himself has reacted on social media with a cryptic message: "Whether they speak well or badly, let them talk about us. That is a good reputation." Daniela has also responded indirectly, writing: "People don't know what to do with their own lives, but with yours they have everything very clear." Deossa joined Betis last summer from Mexican club Monterrey for around ยฃ11 million. He has played 25 matches this season but has yet to score. Previously, the Colombian also played for Pachuca and Atletico Huila, winning the CONCACAF Champions Cup during his career.
