A woman was left shocked after waking up from breast surgery to discover that her tattoos had completely disappeared. Aleigha Cartmen said she only realized this after her partner pointed it out.
According to the "Daily Star," the unexpected moment came after a cosmetic procedure abroad. Her video posted on "TikTok" has since garnered over 749,700 views.
"I didn't even notice at first," said the 23-year-old, who lives in Canada, adding, "It was my boyfriend who told me."
Aleigha traveled to Turkey for a breast reduction, having wanted such a procedure for a year. While she knew excess skin would be removed, she admits her tattoos were not a priority at the time.
"I was more focused on the procedure," she explained, adding, "When I looked in the mirror beforehand, I couldn't see them because of the condition of my stomach. So when I woke up, I didn't realize they were gone. When I noticed, I was more surprised than upset. My surgeon and I even laughed about it because I hadn't noticed at all."
The young woman had gotten the tattoos as a teenager and said she has now come to terms with their loss.
"I cherished them a lot, but I think it was time for them to go," said the 23-year-old, who shared that the surgery has changed her life: "I'm very happy with my new look. It's much less strain on my back and suits my body much better."
Before the procedure, she struggled daily with pain and discomfort: "It was very hard to sleep with all that pressure. I had constant irritation under my breasts, and even going up and down stairs was painful."
