An unusual incident was recorded in Mexico, where the excessive use of filters on social media complicated the identification of a girl who had been reported missing. This concerns Grecia Guadalupe Orantes Mendoza, who had been declared missing by her family since April 12. The case occurred in the state of Chiapas, where authorities activated the official search protocol, "Protocolo Alba," and published a search sheet prepared by the State Attorney General's Office. However, the search was hindered because the photos taken from the 30-year-old's social media did not resemble her real appearance at all. Due to the numerous filters she used on social media, the difference was drastic and made identification by citizens more difficult. After an operation coordinated by the police and local security institutions, the young woman was found three days later on the Ocozocoautla–Jiquipilas road segment, alive and without injuries. Authorities reported that she immediately received medical assistance and was then sent to the Public Ministry to give her statement. So far, no signs of violence have been reported, while investigations continue to clarify the circumstances of her disappearance and recovery.
