The State Police calls on citizens to be cautious of certain messages they may receive on their mobile phones or via email, which contain fake websites resembling the official State Police website. The notifications appear to be sent by state authorities regarding the payment of fines for traffic violations, mainly for speeding.

The State Police informs citizens that an online fraud scheme has been identified, where unidentified perpetrators have created fake websites similar to the official State Police website, with the aim of illegal financial gain. These websites are distributed through SMS messages and disguised email addresses, falsely presented as notifications from state authorities concerning the payment of fines for traffic violations, primarily for speeding.

We clarify that these messages were NOT sent by state institutions. The perpetrators have used sophisticated techniques to deceive citizens and direct them to fake websites, where they are asked to enter their banking details. The purpose of this scheme is to steal banking information and subsequently siphon funds from citizens' accounts.

The State Police urges maximum caution: * Do not click on suspicious links received via SMS or other platforms. * Never enter your banking details on unverified websites. * Verify any fines only through official channels.

Citizens can check fines: * On the official e-Albania portal: https://e-albania.al/eAlbaniaServices/UseService.aspx?service_code=879

If you have entered your banking details on suspicious websites: * Contact your bank immediately to block your card/account and take appropriate measures, and report the cases to the State Police.

Law enforcement structures are working to identify and prosecute the perpetrators.
