Spanish media have brought renewed attention to the murder of Albanian Miklovan Dakaj, revealing new details that shed light on how the crime was organized and concealed. According to an article published by Málaga Hoy, the perpetrators aimed not only at the physical elimination of the 31-year-old but also at the complete disappearance of any trace that could lead to them.

According to published data, the group involved had adopted a dual strategy: on one hand, they pressured family members to abandon the search for the body, while on the other, they spread false information in Albanian media to create confusion and divert attention from the investigation. The victim's circle was also subjected to threats, including direct contacts outside Spain.

Dakaj's body was discovered only after five months, in an isolated area near the Casasolas reservoir in Almogía. A random passerby, who was camping there, noticed a suspicious sack in the mud at a time when the water level had dropped. Inside was the lifeless body, tied and weighted down with concrete blocks to keep it at the bottom of the water.

The advanced state of decomposition indicated that the body had been submerged for months, yet it was still identified thanks to several distinctive elements, including tattoos and clothing. DNA analysis later confirmed the identity.

Investigations into the incident had begun on May 12, 2025, when Dakaj's partner reported his disappearance in Marbella. According to her, he had left for a meeting with known individuals and never returned. The absence of any ransom demand or contact with the family quickly ruled out the kidnapping angle, steering investigators toward a more serious scenario.

Spanish authorities reconstructed the victim's final movements through security cameras and analysis of his contacts, uncovering links to individuals involved in drug trafficking. According to investigators, some of the suspected perpetrators had come from Barcelona, had scouted the area in advance, and then carried out the crime before fleeing immediately afterward.

Dakaj is believed to have been lured to a fake meeting for a drug deal in the Puerto de la Torre area. From there, he was taken to the reservoir, where he was killed. No signs of a struggle were found, which, according to investigators, indicates that the victim did not realize the danger until the final moments.

The motive for the crime remains unclear, but the main suspicions are linked to a conflict or debt in the world of drug trafficking. According to investigative sources, there is no evidence of robbery, which reinforces the theory of a deliberate execution.

The incident was intended to leave no trace: a missing body, no witnesses, and no evidence. But the drop in the water level in the reservoir changed everything, bringing to the surface a crime that the perpetrators had tried to hide forever.
