Speaking at a cabinet meeting today, Netanyahu said Trump issued his threat because Iran "violated the rules" during marathon peace talks with the U.S., which failed over the weekend. "President Trump decided to impose a maritime blockade on them. We certainly support this firm stance and are fully coordinated with the United States at all times," he said. Netanyahu stated that JD Vance informed him after the marathon discussions in Pakistan failed to result in an agreement. The U.S. Vice President called him from his plane after departing Islamabad, he said, and "made it clear that the central issue is the removal of all enriched material and ensuring there is no further enrichment."
