Defense Minister Ermal Nufi said that Albania will evaluate a potential request from the United States to use the Kuçova airbase for carrying out military operations against the Islamic Republic of Iran. "It remains to be assessed at the moment such a request would come," Nufi told reporters at a media conference after the government meeting. "The Kuçova base is a NATO base and I believe all decision-making is related to Albania's involvement in the alliance," he added. Several European countries have so far refused the U.S. request to allow bases located in their countries to be used for attacking Iran.
